Description

These are two adjoining buildings of mixed type (commercial-rental). The buildings are adjoining but independent in terms of construction and distribution. Only a commercial area upstairs is communicating between the two entrances.

Rue Centrale 4 – College 10:
The building, dating from 1954, is adjoining No. 6, with access from rue Centrale for the arcade and from rue du Collège for the accommodation. It also has a small inner courtyard. It is distributed as follows:

Public parking spaces are available on rue Centrale. The premises used by BCV were vacated at the end of 2019. The buildings, being built in the historic center of the town of Avenches, have been classified in note 1 for the protection of the site. The building located rue Centrale 4 received a score of 6 and that located rue Centrale 6 a score of 3 in the architectural census.

The construction of the building located at Rue Centrale 4 dates from 1954 and that of Rue Centrale 6 from 1905 and renovated in 2004. Their structure is in concrete and masonry and the base in natural stone.
The facades are in plaster, the slat blinds with oblique reinforcement, decorative motifs under the roof adorn the building at rue Centrale 6. The roof is covered with tiles, the tinware is in copper,
wooden roofs. The windows are wooden with double glazing and some, on the courtyard side replaced in 2004, in PVC with insulating glazing. Heating is provided by a Hoval 1986 oil-fired boiler for rue Centrale 4 and by the thermal network for rue Centrale 6. The kitchens are semi-fitted. In the premises, the floors are covered with carpet, the walls painted or covered with paneling and technical false ceilings have been installed. The walls of the bathrooms are earthenware over the entire height, tiled floor, enamel painted ceiling. Repair and rehabilitation work on certain
surfaces as well as the facade of building 4 are to be planned.

The plots are located in the center of the town of Avenches, along the main street. They are close to all amenities, as well as the arenas, while being sheltered from nuisances. Public parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity. The A1 motorway slip road is less than 5 minutes away by car. The city of Friborg is 16 km away, Bern and Yverdon 40 km away.
